Rehabilitation Unit for Temporomandibular Disorder (TMJ)

Problems with the TMJ

The Temporomandibular Joint is responsible for the opening and closing of the mouth, specifically, for closing the lower jaw. It acts like two knees, with an articular cartilage that cushions its movement.

TMJ problems aren't only caused by bruxism, there are other possible factors such as Osteoarthritis, Displacement of the Articular Cartilage, Trauma to the area, etc…

Our Neuromuscular Rehabilitation team at our clinic is fully qualified to carry out all of the necessary treatments.

We have diagnostic tools such as CT scans and Ultrasound.

Treatments include:

  • Manual Therapy.
  • Electrotherapy.
  • Dry Needling.
  • Botulinum Toxin (Botox) Injections.
  • Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP).
